"You can get a minute with him after his set". Just like that, I was set to photograph one of the most influential producers of Hip Hop's golden age. I checked the space I would have to shoot, which was a bog standard dressing room, luckily, with a plain grey wall.
After a brief hello, I set to work, hand holding my flash. 6 shots later, I was done. I thanked him for his time and for making some of my favourite hip hop tracks of all time, before leaving him to enjoy the steel city.
