Kate Nash Live at The Rescue Rooms Nottingham.

27 March 11

Kate Nash has a mission statement with this tour, to get young females making music. Her set tonight was preceded by a video all about the subject. Nash is launching a project called "The Kate Nash Rock and Roll After School Music Club for Girls".

The aim of the project is inspire girls to start making music. This is truly an amazing project that will hopefully inspire the next generation of female musicians in the UK.

Briggitte Aphrodite Live at The Rescue Rooms

25 March 11

Brigette Aphrodite took to the stage to polite applause, by the end of the second song she had the crowd eating out of her hand, such was her stage presence tonight.

This tour coincides with the release of the single "I Dream Myself Awake" on Kate Nash's Have 10p Records. To me the sign of a quality of a gig when i go home and buy up anything I can find, which is exactly what I did after seeing Brigitte live for the first time.

Preview: Kate Nash at The Rescue Rooms Nottingham

23 March 11

Kate Nash played to a packed Rescue Rooms last night. A great show from Nash and I found a new musical love in support act Brigitte Aphrodite.

Riot Grrrl is alive and well and Nash is fast becoming its UK figurehead. More of this show soon.

The Twang at Cambridge Junction.

15 March 11

The Twang came to support Shaun Ryder, but by the reaction of they got it was obvious some of the crowd came purely for them.

Shaun William Ryder Preview.

11 March 11

I am just working through my Shaun Ryder images when he played at the Junction when I came across this. Just seeing Shaun Ryder in a Hitchcock like pose made me smile, and I thought I would put it out there as the preview for these images

Love it? Loathe it? Indifferent? Leave your thoughts below.

More to come from the Madchester legend's show soon

The Wonderstuff & The Levellers Preview.

07 March 11

It's been 20 years since the Levellers released the album Levelling the Land. Tonight celebrated the album that took the Levellers from obscurity to headlining Glastonbury. Supported by the Wonderstuff the night made it seem like 1992 - 2010 never happened, give or take the odd balder head or bigger waistline.

I will be putting up the full galleries of the show in the next couple of days, but for now enjoy a small taster.

Kate Miller-Heidke O2 Academy Sheffield

02 March 11

Kate Miller-Heidke took the stage with her husband Keir Nutall to support Ben Folds on his current tour. Listed simply as special guests on the tickets, most people had not heard of Miller-Heidke before this show and her presence was greeted with purely polite applause. Judging by the number of people that crammed the merch stall to grab her album and have Miller-Heidke sign it after her set though, she gained a huge number of fans with her performance. Her performance tonight is stripped back to simply her voice and Nutall's guitar, letting her voice be the stand out.

Thise who listen to her latest album after first hearing her at this show you will be suprised with the level of production and how "Pop" it sounds compared to the stripped back nature of her support slot. Clever lyrics and a voice that can switch to operatic at a moments notice mean that Miller-Heidke will hopefully return to the UK with her own shows as well as a level of chart sucess.
