Ben Folds Live at O2 Academy Sheffield

Saturday I finally got to photograph Ben Folds when he played at the O2 Academy in Sheffield. It is no secret that I am a huge fan, and I was so happy when to be able to shoot this show, and it did not let me down. Ben played for two and a half hours solid. The set had a lot of material from the Nick Hornby collaboration Lonely Avenue, but spanned Folds' career with classics and a couple of songs made up on the night, one with lyrics handed to him by a fan and another about the mirror balls in the venue called Sheffield's Got Balls.

Example Live at Grimsby Auditorium

Last Night I photographed Example when the he played Grimsby Auditorium. Picking up from Sundays shoot of The Streets this show continued the British Hip Hop theme of my shoots this week. Very much in the style of Calvin Harris, Example's electro pop tinged melodies reminded the crowd that summer is just around the corner.

The Streets at The Engine Shed Lincoln.

Tonight I shot the Streets live at Lincoln's Engine Shed as part of the Computers and Blues Tour. It was the first time I had seen Mike Skinner live, and the first time I had shot live music this year. The set was heavy on the material from the final Streets album, but mixed in with stuff from throughout Skinner's career.

Import Workflow for Aperture 3

This shot of the Manics took 3 hours from this image being taken to it being with the client.

 

When shooting live music it is usually essential to get the final images out of your computer as quickly as possible. There are a million tutorials out there about workflows on Aperture, but very few from a Music photographers point of view.  So here then is my step by step guide to workflow from getting home to getting the images out to the client.
